Jill Sloan
I was 13 when I started my first business painting seasonal art on retail store windows. Since that time, I have had several small businesses in retail, from Pringle’s Art Gallery and Framing with Native American jewelry to Archie’s ACE Hardware in Kernville, CA.
I then took a hobby and turned it into a business by partnering in creating Seals Sprayskirts product line for kayaking. I would later sell this business, which continues today in New York. Because of my products, I also became the southwestern sales rep for Dagger and Perception Kayaks.
I was appointed by the Kern Board of Supervisors and served as a board member and chair for California’s Kern River Valley Cemetery District for several years, where I learned a great deal about government rules and regulations and finances.
I have many years experience in residential building first with the Sloan Company, Inc. and I am currently remodeling houses.
I also have 2 utility patents.
In a nutshell I’m an entrepreneur.
