It’s easy to become overwhelmed in the early stages of launching a company. Learn the first steps to starting a business your own business and how to pave the way to success. This workshop will outline the first steps you need to take, how to create a business plan, and how to get a handle of the finances from the start.

As the Financial Administrator, Ila Sloan manages OzSBI’s microloan programs, the finances of the incubator, mentors clients and teaches workshops. She moved to West Plains with her husband Mark from San Antonio, Texas, and brought with her over 25 years of banking experience. Ila most recently worked for the Bank of San Antonio as their Credit Manager where she managed the credit analyst department responsible for reviewing, monitoring and underwriting new and existing commercial loans. Ila graduated from Baker University in 2005 where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
Willis Mushrush, Business Development Specialist, University of Missouri Extension, began his career in retailing while still in high school in the late 1960’s. After ending his retailing career, he became a Human Resource Manager for a large manufacturing government contractor for 10 years prior to becoming employed by the University of Missouri. Willis has assisted many small businesses throughout Missouri for over 20 years while working with the Missouri Small Business & Technology Development Center and the Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Center. Willis received his Bachelor of Science in Management from Southwest Missouri State University, and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas.
